AUSTIN - The City of Austin announced Thursday afternoon they appointed the Chief Financial Officer Elaine Hart as interim city manager in wake of Marc Ott's departure.
According to the city, Hart has worked as an assistant finance director, city controller and deputy auditor during her 20-year tenure in Austin.
"I appreciate the confidence this Mayor and Council have shown in me. My focus, for now, is helping guide us through the budget process in partnership with the City Manager," Hart said.
Ott announced Aug. 15 he was leaving his position after eight years to become the Executive Director of the International City/County Management Association in Washington D.C.
"I appointed Elaine Chief Financial Officer because I am confident in her ability to manage the finances for our growing city," Ott said.
