Budget woes are forcing Blanco Independent School District to get rid of employees, but not as many as they originally thought.
School Board President Darrell Wagner told KVUE they originally projected up to 17 positions would be cut, but the district was able to whittle that number down to four including a teacher, a bus driver and two aides.
Wagner said the district is operating on a negative budget this school year due to state funding cuts and non-rising property taxes.
The school board will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 10, at the elementary school.
