Brothers allegedly broke into man's home, assaulted him

AUSTIN - Three men allegedly broke into their distant cousin's home, assaulted and threatened to shoot him, police said.

The suspects were identified as Fortino Hernandez-Casas, 27, Aurelanio Hernandez, 34, and Masiel Hernandez-Casas, 32.

On Nov. 10, around or before 9:40 p.m, the victim called the Austin Police Department to report that the brothers allegedly forced their way into his home and struck him in his face and upper torso.

Fortino Hernandez-Casas allegedly confronted the victim for an allegation he made about the brothers' real biological father, police said. Fortino Hernandez-Casas then allegedly pulled out a black semi-automatic style pistol and pointed it at the victim, demanding the victim to take back his allegation.

According to the affidavit, Aurelanio Hernandez told his brother, "Just shoot him!", but Masiel Hernandez-Casas allegedly dissuaded them, reminding them the gunshot sound would alert neighbors.

A fist fight then occurred, the victim told police. The brothers left the residence, allegedly threatening to "finish" the victim if he called the police.

Fortino Hernandez-Casas, Masiel Hernandez-Casas, and Aurelanio Hernandez have been charged with burglary of a habitation, with individual bonds set for $20,000, $25,000, and $15,000 respectively.

According to online records, the brothers are not currently in the Travis County jail.
