AUSTIN - Days after Travis County prosecutors said they concluded there will be no charges in the alleged sexual assault at Boone Elementary School, school officials said in a letter Monday that the teacher at the center of the case will return.
In late April, KVUE reported that Travis County prosecutors were looking into whether a 4-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at the South Austin elementary school – but only after the girl’s parents, not law enforcement, alerted them to the case. After the investigation ended, officials told KVUE's Tony Plohetski that the latest medical examination reports show the 4-year-old girl likely was not assaulted and instead suffered injuries from a playground accident.
In a letter sent to Boone Elementary families Tuesday, Principal Alan Stevens said the teacher at the center of the allegations will return to her classroom May 22.
A meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria where all families are welcome, according to the letter.
