AUSTIN - After a boil water notice was issued for several streets in the Davenport Ranch neighborhood Sunday afternoon, Austin Water said Monday the tap water is safe to drink for residents there.
Austin Water said the notice had to be issued due to a technical problem at one of their pump stations. Austin Water said the station that serves the area just east of Capital of Texas Highway suffered a loss in pressure.
In order to get rid of harmful bacteria and other microbes, people were being asked to bring their water to a vigorous boil for at least two minutes. Store bought water could also be used as substitute until the notice is lifted.
The streets affected are listed below:
- Waymaker Way
- Clarion Cove
- Neverbend Cove
- Far Gallant Drive
- Bold Ruler Way
- Davenport Rim
