Austin police needs public's identifying owners of lost camera

AUSTIN - The Austin Police Department found a stolen camera and is seeking help from the public in identifying the owners.

On Nov. 8, a burglary of a vehicle victim contacted Austin police to report several missing items, which he later found being sold online. APD helped the victim contact the seller.

In the process of taking the victim's possessions back, APD found a FujiFilm X10.

According to a press release, Austin police investigated and found no recent report of this type of camera being stolen, so detectives are using the photos in the camera to help identify the owners.

The photos were taken in the outdoors, near the end of September, police said.

APD encourages people to proactively lock car doors and report suspicious activity immediately.

The seller, later identified as Juan Charles Gurley, 19, has been charged with burglary of a vehicle.
