APD searching for suspect in South Austin bank robbery

AUSTIN - Police are searching for a man they believe robbed a South Austin bank Saturday morning.

The robbery occurred at 11:30 a.m. at the Bank of America located at 701 E. Stassney Lane.

APD said that the suspect entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money. No weapons were displayed and there were no injuries in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid- to late-20s, approximately 6-feet tall with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a white thermal shirt with blue jeans.

APD robbery detectives are investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the robbery tip line at 512-974-5092 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS. You can also text 'Tip 103' along with your message to CRIMES. Anyone providing information leading to an arrest or charges being filed is eligible for a reward up to $1,000. 

This is the 15th bank robbery in Austin this year.
