APD searching for suspect in SE Austin bank robbery

Police are searching for the suspect who robbed a southeast Austin bank.

Austin police said the robbery was around 2:15 p.m. on Monday, June 19, at the Capital One Bank located at 2301 E. Riverside Drive.

The suspect entered the bank and demanded money. He indicated that he was armed but witnesses did not see a weapon. The suspect then fled the scene, according to police.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.

APD described the suspect as a black male in his 20s with short hair. He is about 6 feet tall and was last seen wearing a striped jacket. 

The case is being investigated by APD and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Central Texas Violent Crimes Task Force.
