AUSTIN - The inclement weather didn't do any favors for hopeful kite flyers at Zilker Park Sunday morning.
As a result of park conditions, the City of Austin canceled the annual festival - typically held on the first Sunday of March. The event has now been rescheduled for Sunday, March 12.
In a statement on ABC Kite Fest's website, officials said they were "disappointed with the postponement" but "agree with the City’s decision and want everyone attending the festival to have the experience they deserve and to protect Zilker Park from any potential damage."
The kite festival has been held at Zilker park for over 80 years.
