AUSTIN - As Hurricane Harvey continues to move through Texas, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is urging travelers to go online to check their flight statuses via the Austin airport's website.
ABIA said travelers can check their flight statuses through their website, by calling their airlines directly, or by visiting their airlines' sites. Airlines serving Austin will be posting notifications for their passengers at the following links:
- Air Canada
- Alaska Airlines
- British Airways
- Virgin America
Due to the possibility of Harvey altering flight schedules, ABIA is also urging flyers to:
- Check flight statuses all the way through on connecting flights.
- Arrive early. Aim to be in the terminal at least two hours before flights during the peak departure times of 5 to 8 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Travelers are advised to arrive 90 minutes early for all other times.
- When picking up a passenger, check their flight status and keep their flight information handy as foul weather could delay their arrival.
- Allow plenty of time to get to the airport as weather conditions and other factors could add to your commute time.
