Woman killed in motorcycle crash

AUSTIN -- A woman was killed Wednesday after crashing her motorcycle.

Police said 20-year-old Sierrah Kahookele was riding in the 2800 block of SH-130 on the northbound frontage road when her motorcycle veered off the roadway and ended up in a drainage ditch.

Kahookele was transported by Austin-Travis County EMS to University Medical Center at Brackenridge with life-threatening injuries. She later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m.

Police said they were unable to find out what caused the motorcycle to veer of the roadway.

This is Austin’s 19th traffic fatality of 2013. At this time in 2012, there were 15 traffic fatalities.
