AUSTIN -- Police say a woman was injured after being hit by a car in Northwest Austin while crossing a street around 5:30 Tuesday evening.

It happened at the intersection of Anderson Mill Road and Villa Park Drive, about a mile west of the Parmer Lane intersection.

Austin police say the woman was transported to a Round Rock hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was crossing Villa Park with her grandson, who was not hit.

The driver was turning on to Anderson Mill from Villa Park. When traffic opened up he went, not seeing her. The driver stayed at the scene. Police say he faces no criminal charges.
