AUSTIN -- A woman has been accused of running an illegal daycare and abusing a baby.
Karen Liat Mejia Pineda is charged with injury to a child.
Investigators say when a woman picked up her one year old daughter last October, she noticed marks around the baby's eyes. When she changed the baby's diaper she noticed what appeared to be a hand impression on her back.
Police say Pineda has admitted to slapping the baby because the child would not stop crying. She also admitted that the daycare did not have a license.
