AUSTIN -- The Watoto Children's Choir of Uganda is spreading awareness of vulnerable and orphaned African children, and they're stopping in Austin during their six-month U.S. tour.
The choir will perform in Austin on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at Shoreline Church. The performance is free and open to the public.
Each of the children in the choir has lost one or both parents and live in Watoto Children's Villages. They perform original African music, dance routines and share their stories.
“Through the choir’s Concert of Hope, we share a message of transformation by telling the story of Africa’s rescued orphans and women. We hope to reach out to audiences with the message of Christ’s healing power,” said Watoto founder Gary Skinner.
