ROUND ROCK -- The Dell Diamond may soon get some upgrades.

On Thursday evening the Round Rock City Council will consider setting aside $350,000 dollars for repairs and renovations.

The former general manager of the Round Rock Express wrote a letter to the city's finance manager in September outlining the request. He is asking for $250,000 from a city repair fund to fix things like steps in the dugouts. He also wants to use that money to upgrade restrooms and concession stands at the Dell Diamond.

The other $100,000 would come from a separate capital improvement fund. It would cover the installation of awnings over the press box and bird control netting.
