An Austin woman is knitting her way to college. Snowden Becker of the University of Texas has been chosen as one of five recipients of the Beans for Brains Scholarship.
She picked up $800 in tuition assistance, thanks to her craftastic talents with fiber.
JimmyBeansWool.com and Vogue International Knitting Magazine paired up to offer the prestigious prize. The award considers an applicant's GPA, extracurricular activities, and an essay, as well as knitting or crocheting artistic abilities.
