HAYS COUNTY, Texas – Three people are dead after an accident on U.S. 290 near Dripping Springs around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

DPS troopers tell KVUE News a Honda Accord was turning at a yellow light and hit a truck headed East.
"All the doors were open, and the people in the backseat of the truck were just completely lifeless and one of the guys was hanging out," Misura said.

The three men in the backseat of the truck were killed on impact. the driver was also seriously injured. But the driver of the Accord, a young man, was okay.

"He was just completely pale and he had blood coming down his forehead," Misura said.

Misura says seconds after the crash around 20 people came running over to help.

"My first reaction was 'look at those good Samaritans.’ Like everyone was rushing over to help, and these two guys immediately started directing traffic. There was one older man who was shaking, everyone was kind of shaken up. But I thought that was really great how everyone came over to help," she said.

The speed limit at this intersection is 65 miles per hour which Misura says don’t mix well with all the traffic signals.

“You've got highway speeds, but you've got a lot of traffic lights."
