AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- A Texas state lawmaker wants a forensic examination of the University of Texas System regents' personal computers, mobile phones and other electronic devices as part of an impeachment investigation into board member Wallace Hall.

Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer is on the House panel investigating whether Hall should be removed from office. Martinez Fischer has questioned whether Hall and the regents are providing documents the panel wants.

In a letter to committee attorney Rusty Hardin last week, Martinez Fischer says the panel must consider probing the regents' personal and professional communications.

Hardin and the University of Texas System did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The next committee hearing is Nov. 12.

Hall is accused of misusing his office in an attempt to force out Austin campus President Bill Powers.
