Hundreds of people were evacuated from the Travis County Criminal Justice Center Friday morning after a suspicious package was found.
It happened just after 9:30 a.m. at the complex at near 10th and Guadalupe in downtown Austin.
Law enforcement authorities say a man brought in the package, which was screened, and someone thought it looked suspicious. Police closed off 10th and 11th streets bordering the complex while the package was inspected.
A robot inspected the package, and officials say they do not believe it is a bomb. The package has been recovered.
The man was taken into custody, and authorities are investigating.
