AUSTIN -- Updated specialty license plates for cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers and private buses go on sale Thursday in Texas.
My Plates is a specialty marketing vendor recently hired by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
The 20 latest versions, at myplates.com, will let the purchaser go online to pick a design, spell a message and place an order. The plates can be picked up about three weeks later at the buyer's local county tax office.
A statement Wednesday from My Plates says the cost is $55 to $195 for a one-year plate.
