LORENA, Texas (AP) -- At least six students and two adults on a Central Texas school bus have been taken to a hospital following a head-on collision with a dump truck.
The accident happened Monday afternoon on an Interstate 35 access road near Lorena. Authorities are trying to determine what caused the crash between a Bruceville-Eddy Independent School District bus and the truck.
School officials didn't immediately provide details Tuesday on the victims. Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco did not immediately have conditions on the injured.
Lorena police Chief Tom Dickson says six students were transported to a hospital. The woman driving the bus had to be extricated and treated. An adult aide on the bus was also taken to a hospital. Officials say the dump truck driver wasn't hurt.
