FORT HOOD, Texas -- Tuesday afternoon was somber in Fort Hood as comrades, family members and dignitaries arrived at the memorial service for those who were killed in a mass shooting last week.
Thirteen families made their way past the stage with their loved ones boots, rifle and helmet displayed -- the symbol of a fallen soldier.
Army commanders spoke with words of support.
But it was the words of comfort from our nation’s leader most came to hear.
