Poll:
Do you think Sarah Palin is a viable presidential candidate for the future?

Controversial political figure Sarah Palin is heading to Austin, but she’s leaving politics at the door.

Palin will speak at the Austin Convention Center on behalf of a non-profit group called Heroic Media. Heroic Media calls itself a solution center for pregnant women.

"It's not about politics. It's about this particular issue and helping women in crisis pregnancy. That’s what it's all about. We brought in Democrats, we brought in Republicans and we brought in folks who have no political ties to speak about this issue," said Kimberly Guidry Speirs, Heroic Media spokesperson.

The organization says it tells women about all of the options available to them during an unexpected or unwanted pregnancy -- pregnancies they describe as crisis pregnancies.

The event Thursday evening is the group's annual fundraiser.

The organization invited Palin, among others, to speak on behalf of her experiences.

"We actually look for a lot of different speakers. Like I said, it's not about politics. We look for folks who care about this issue and who have experiences with this issue and Sarah Palin has both. That's why we're interested in her," said Speirs.

In particular, Heroic Media says Palin will speak about her youngest son Trig and her grandson Tripp. Her eldest daughter gave birth to Tripp in 2008. She was still a teenager at the time and gave birth out of wedlock.

About 1,500 people purchased tickets for the event and are expected to attend. Media outlets were also required to purchase tickets in order to cover the event.
