SAN MARCOS, Texas -- The drought in Central Texas is forcing the city of San Marcos to toughen its water restrictions.
Starting Monday, homeowners there can only use sprinklers and automatic sprinkler systems once a week on designated days only before 10 a.m. or after 8 p.m. However, hand watering is allowed any day before 10 a.m. and after 8 p.m.
Austin is also under the same Stage 2 water restriction. Round Rock doesn't have any restrictions in place.
