Police identify woman involved in South Austin SWAT standoff

AUSTIN -- A SWAT situation has come to an end peacefully.

The Austin Police Department's SWAT team was called to South Congress Avenue and Cumberland Road after someone reported shots fired in the area around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

They evacuated seven units of the Heights on Congress apartments while the SWAT team negotiated with  49-year-old Louise Marie Gonzalez. She would not come out of her apartment.

The standoff ended peacefully around 2 a.m. Officers took Gonzalez into custody and charged her with deadly conduct.
