The man who helped rescue five people from the burning building has been receiving a lot of attention.

Robin Dehaven demonstrated to KVUE News, how he helped rescue those five office workers.

"This is wild!" Robin Dehaven said as he tries to describe his new-found attention. "I got two to three hours of sleep, then came back to work.”

Since Thursday, he's received calls from all over the world.

"All these people are calling, we got USA today, CNN, CBS and ABC are all calling," he said.

Dehaven works for Binswanger Glass. He's also an Iraqi War Veteran, deployed twice.  He was driving in his glass truck around 10 a.m. Thursday when he saw a plane flying very low.

"I saw all the black smoke -- obviously it had crashed -- and so I just decided to head into that direction and just see where it landed and if anyone needed help in the wreckage. Anything I could do to help!" he said.

Dehaven stopped his truck and jumped out. He used his work ladder to rescue five people trapped on the second floor of the burning Echelon building. Risking his own life, he climbed inside the building.

"I got the ladder and got in the building and tried to reassess the situation," he said.  He rescued four men and one woman from the smoky office.

"And she said, 'how am I going to do this?' And I said, you can do it! I got you!"

Since his act of heroism, the office at Binswanger Glass has been swamped with calls -- not with glass installation needs -- but media interviews.

"Getting so much attention, it's kind of neat, yet annoying. I can't answer my phone anymore!" he said.

Workers jokingly acknowledge the attention. "We need to get him back to work.  We're getting behind in our installations," laughed Ronnie Kleiber, Binswanger Glass.

But, it's not just the media attention.  Social network sites like Facebook are creating fan pages.

"People started three pages -- Facebook pages -- dedicated to me -- American Hero, Robin Dehaven, and I just started finding out about this stuff."

Even with his new-found fame, Dehaven doesn't think of himself as a hero. "You never imagine anything like this happening to you, it's just unreal!"

He hopes one day, others will take the leap of faith, like he did.

"Everyone takes the assumption that, someone is helping them out, or they don't need my help. Find out! Just be curious!"

His office is ready for him to get back to work. Dehaven hopes to get back to a normal schedule next week.
