AUSTIN -- The hunt is on for a serial armed robber, nicknamed by Austin Police the, “I’m sorry Robber.”

The man wanted for at least six armed robberies in Northwest and West Austin apparently apologizes to store clerks during the commission of the crimes.

“When he walked in here that one time he got thirty bucks out of our drawer. That's it,” said Michael Caulfield, a convenience store clerk at the Valero on Jollyville Road near Great Hills Trail. It's one of six businesses targeted by the same man since July.

On July 4 the suspected robber is believed to have hit four different businesses all on the same day.

The latest was the 7-11 inside an Exxon Gas Station at Burnet Road and Braker on Thursday night, September 5.

Surveillance video shows him walking in through the doors talking on his cell phone.

The man police are looking for is white, in  his early twenties, between 5’8 and 6-feet, 140 to 160 pounds, and it’s believed a dark red or Maroon colored car could be the key to finding him.

Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to an arrest.
