AUSTIN -- A cold front hit Central Texas Thursday morning, bringing heavy winds with it.

Afternoon temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid 50s, about 35 degrees colder than Wednesday.

We'll see a record low in temperatures Thursday night. The record of 45 degrees on this date was set in 1929. We are expecting a low of 43 degrees. Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 30s in the Hill Country.

There is a Wind Advisory is in effect until 12 a.m. Wind gusts could hit 35 to 45 mph.

Friday will bring sunny skies and cool weather with temperatures hitting the mid 60s. The weekend should be sunny with 40s in the morning and mid to upper 70s in the afternoon.
