AUSTIN -- Years of flooding have taken their toll on Shoal Creek, so the City is improving a stretch of the Shoal Creek corridor from 28th to 15th streets including Pease Park.
During the six-million-dollar improvement project, the City will replace decades-old wastewater pipes that pose a danger to water safety.
Improvements also include new walking and bike trails in the area.
The work is expected to begin this summer and should be finished by next summer.
The public will have one last chance to weigh in on the project Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at One Texas Center, 505 Barton Springs Road, room 325. If you can't make the meeting, see the "before" and the proposed "after" photos of the creek by click on the images to the right of this story.
