AUSTIN -- Navy SEAL Chris Kyle will be buried at Texas State Cemetery in East Austin on Tuesday.

Kyle will be buried around 1 p.m. His family has asked for a private ceremony after the public procession down Interstate 35 from Midlothian.

A few people were gathered at the cemetery to show their support Tuesday morning.

Located just blocks from the State Capitol, it is an honor to be buried in Texas State Cemetery. It is the final resting place for many governors, congressman, judges and other legendary Texans.

Chis Kyle will join them after a decorated career in the military. He is known as the most lethal sniper in U.S. history after serving four tours in Iraq.

His brother applied to the State Cemetery board to have Kyle buried there. Law enforcement and hundreds of Patriot Guard riders will escort the family.

They are starting to stage near 8th and Comal Streets, at the back side of the cemetery.

Traffic will be thick around that area for the next few hours. There will be several road closures near the burial site.

KVUE will have more on this story at 6 p.m.
