AUSTIN -- Police say a father is dead after his son allegedly stabbed him during a dispute.
A spokesperson with the Austin Police Department said police were called to a home in the 4600 block of Horseshoe Bend in West Austin just after 6:30 Wednesday evening.
The caller told police that his brother was attacking their father. When police arrived they found 58-year-old Ray Scott Ervin with multiple stab wounds to his torso and lower extremities.
The man was taken to University Medical Center-Brackenridge where he was pronounced dead just after 7 p.m.
Ervin's son, 20-year-old Alexander Scott Ervin, was taken into custody. Austin police said Thursday just before noon they anticipate filing murder charges against him later Thursday.
Austin police tell KVUE News there have been disturbance calls at this home before.
