AUSTIN -- A police pursuit occurred Friday a little after 5 p.m. near 38th Street and Red River after police responded to a call about a disturbance.

The pursuit finally ended at 5:28 p.m. on the northbound access road of I-35 near 290 after the truck collided with another vehicle.

APD said they saw a pickup truck drive off when they arrived. Police followed the vehicle which refused to stop.

The pursuit continued through the downtown area and onto I-35. APD said they used stingers which are devices used to deflate the tires to stop the vehicle, but the truck continued on flat tires.

The driver refused to obey officers and was taken into custody.
