AUSTIN -- Police are asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that injured a man.

The incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. Friday on F.M. 973, between Burleson Road and F.M. 812.

The victim in the collision was riding a motorcycle southbound on F.M. 973 when he was side-swiped by a white, three-axel dump truck, similar to the above picture.

The dump truck was traveling northbound on F.M. 973 heading toward the Del Valle Correctional Complex.

The victim suffered serious foot and hand injuries which resulted in the amputation of his left foot, according to a Travis County Sheriff's Office press release.
