AUSTIN -- Police are searching for two people they say burglarized a home in South Austin.
APD says a man approached a woman outside her home in the 400 block of South Park Drive near Congress Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 18. The man said he worked for the City of Austin and claimed he wanted to see some trees in her backyard.
While the woman took the man to the backyard, another man called him on his radio to say they had "another job to go to." When the woman went back into her house, she noticed money had been stolen from her bedroom.
The first suspect is described as a Hispanic man about 5'4". He was not wearing a City of Austin uniform. Police do not have a description of the second suspect at this time.
The vehicle involved is believed to be a red pickup truck with a wooden side rail on the bed. Police believe the men could be part of a traveling group who are burglarizing people.
