AUSTIN -- Governor Rick Perry is extending Texas' drought emergency for more than 200 counties.

The declaration authorizes the use of all necessary measures to help out the driest parts of the state.

With very little rainfall over the last year, Gov. Perry says drought conditions are at historic levels and pose an imminent threat to public health, property and the economy.
