AUSTIN -- A 23-year-old woman was in serious condition Wednesday after being struck by a pickup truck.
A spokesperson with the Austin Police Department said the accident happened just before 7 p.m. in the 1600 block of Montopolis Drive. The woman was trying to cross the street when she was hit by the pickup truck.
She was taken to University Medical Center-Brackenridge.
Police said alcohol and speed were not a factor in the crash. Police believe the pedestrian was either trying to cross the street against the light or there was no signal at that intersection.
