Austin-based “Bypass Mobile” may have hit a home run with a new smart phone application. It allows you to order and pay for your food from any seat at the Dell Diamond.
For some fans, eating is an important part of any baseball game.
“It is probably the highlight,” said Express fan Michelle Williston.
The Round Rock Express has become the first franchise in the country to offer the Bypass Lane at its food venues.
Users can enter their credit card information through their smart phone’s web browser, view menus from four venues inside the park, and then order what they want.
“And then we will text you when it is ready,” said Express CEO Reid Ryan. “You can walk up to the stand and pick it up.”
The application is expected to cut down on lines.
“And really it is groundbreaking technology that keeps fans in their seats watching the action,” said Bypass President Brandon Lloyd.
The convenience, however, does come at a small price. A 99 cent surcharge is placed on all orders.
