AUSTIN -- A woman was killed in an accident on New Year's Eve.
It happened Monday around 9 a.m. on Anderson Mill, east of RM 620 near Pecan Creek Parkway.
Police say a Toyota Celica was driving east on Anderson Mill when the driver lost control and crashed into oncoming westbound traffic. The car hit a Nissan Altima and a Dodge Caravan. Two other SUVs were also damaged.
Police say the driver of the Toyota has been identified as a 23-year-old woman. She was taken to a Round Rock hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A male driver and female passenger in the Nissan were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
This was Austin's 79th traffic fatality of 2012.
