Police ID body pulled from water in Northeast Austin

AUSTIN -- Officials have released the identity of a man pulled from the water near 7600 Blessing Avenue in Northeast Austin just before 6 p.m. Saturday.

The body of Mark Malone, 53, was found in the water underneath a bridge in the Buttermilk Branch of Little Walnut Creek. Emergency officials say he did not have a heartbeat at the time.

After performing CPR for about 20 minutes, EMS officials pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police say they are not investigating the death as suspicious.
