AUSTIN -- Hundreds of volunteers spent Saturday cleaning up after the previous weekend's storms tore through baseball fields in Southwest Austin.
Floodwaters wreaked havoc on six baseball fields and two softball fields in Oak Hill near Williamson Creek.
Around 400 volunteers, including area baseball teams, helped clean up the debris left behind.
"Almost every field is now cleaned off and ready for reconstruction," said Hattie Hartman, vice president of the Oak Hill Youth Sports Association. "We got the creek cleaned up and the St. Edward's baseball team even went beyond what we expected, instead of cleaning cut down some of the scrub brush that contributed to the flooding."
The Oak Hill Youth Sports Association told KVUE it could take more than $100,000 to repair all the damage. They are getting help from local businesses and the Round Rock Express baseball team to pay for repairs.
