It's not just Gulf Coast residents who are keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Alex.
Many in New Braunfels say the city's businesses can't afford to be rained out on Fourth of July weekend.
After being shut down for two weeks last month due to the flooding of the Comal and Guadalupe rivers, Texas Tubing proprietetors say this weekend is vital for their business.
"It feels like we just got everything cleaned up and the river is starting to clear up, and then we are looking at this,” said Mark
Gonzales of Texas Tubing. “We are going to have to do it all over again."
Over at Ducky's Ice Cones, they're worried that a lack of sun this weekend would melt their sales, but employee Vicente Romero said he is not going to worry about it.
"We're optimistic,” he said. “We always have to be because otherwise it's like we always have our heads down, and you have to serve snow cones with a smile."
