AUSTIN -- More than 600 volunteers are expected to be in the Onion Creek area this weekend helping with the clean-up -- just a fraction of how many are needed.
The Austin Disaster Relief network is organizing the volunteer efforts. Go here for more information.
Austin firefighters canvassed the neighborhood Friday assessing damage and letting residents know help is on the way.
"We want them to be aware of the resources that are here for them and put them in touch with the volunteer organizations who are here to help them move on with their lives," said Matt Holmes with the Austin Fire Department.
The firefighters are also giving out paperwork for victims to fill out before the group comes in. If you missed them Friday, they'll have paperwork on hand this weekend.
