FORT HOOD, Texas -- Monday marks three years since the deadly mass shooting at Fort Hood.
On Nov. 5, 2009, 13 people died and dozens more were injured when authorities say Army Major Nidal Hasan opened fire on fellow soldiers at the Soldier Readiness Center on the Army post.
Two civilian police officers were eventually able to take Hasan down, ending the rampage and paralyzing him from the chest down.
Hasan is still awaiting a court martial for murder and attempted murder charges. Recently a debate over whether he should be forced to shave his beard has delayed proceedings.
If convicted Hasan could face the death penalty.
