A Harlequin Great Dane that has been missing since September 26th was found Thursday night in Central Austin.

According to the owner’s Facebook page, Mac was captured in a trap set near Shoal Creek area and Hancock.

Mac took off September 26th shortly after he had been rescued from a shelter. You wouldn’t think it would be tough to spot a 3 foot tall, 130 pound dog, but Mac is pretty shy around people. Mac had been spotted around Mopac and Enfield but every time someone gets close Mac galloped away.

The owner placed pictures on telephone poles, fences and front doors. He even posted his picture on Twitter, Craig’s List and Facebook.

When we first reported this story in October, Chuck Smith, the owner said Mac, “is like a kid to me.”

Tonight Smith wrote how excited he was that Mac had been found.
