AUSTIN -- Several Memorial Day events were held in Central Texas to honor fallen soldiers.

The Annual Memorial Day Service was held at the State Cemetery at 10 a.m. The service has been held since 1981 and was open to the public.

The 10th annual Memorial Day Ceremony in Sun City was held at 9:30 a.m. at the Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza. Last year Governor Perry spoke at the event. This year Congressman John Carter and U.S. Senator John Cornyn were in attendance.

Capital Metro will operate on its Sunday bus schedule for Memorial Day. This means there will be no MetroRail, UT shuttle or E-Bus services.

Capital Metro will return to normal hours on Tuesday.
