Marshals investigating cyclist hit and run

US marshals are now involved in the investigation into a New Years Day hit and run crash that left a cyclist badly injured.

Mariel Mentink, 24, was put in the hospital.  Mentink was riding along MLK Boulevard early in the morning when a driver crashed into her and took off.

She has broken bones, skull fractures and crushed vertebrae.

The reward for information has also been increased to $5,000.

Anyone with information in the case should call CrimeStoppers at 472-TIPS.
