AUSTIN -- A man charged with murdering a Southeast Austin convenience store clerk is on trial for the second time.
In October a state judge declared a mistrial in the case against Frederick Manuel after his lawyers claimed an investigator gave prejudicial testimony.
In Travis County on Tuesday, prosecutors said Manuel is the man in a surveillance video from January 2011. The camera shows a man appearing to shoot the clerk and steal from the register.
Prosecutors argue Manuel also tried to get rid of the boots he wore that night. The defense says the state has no DNA evidence to prove Manuel is the person in the video.
