AUSTIN -- Police charged a man with assault on a police officer after an attack on Congress Avenue Friday Feb. 8.
You can see 26-year-old Keith Southerland was still being restrained when his mugshot was taken.
According to his arrest affidavit, he was yelling at people on the street and threatening to fight them. When police arrived he tried to punch them before he was overpowered and forced to the ground.
Southerland is also charged with resisting arrest and harassment for spitting on an officer at the Travis County Jail.
His bond is set at $25,000.
