AUSTIN -- A burglary suspect was arrested Friday for a theft incident reported in April 2009.
Enrique Mojica, 57, was arrested and indicted for theft from elderly, a third degree felony.
In April 2009, Mojica was hired by an 84-year-old man to paint a house. The elderly victim gave Mojica $1,800 in the form of checks for materials to paint the house.
The work was never completed and despite numerous attempts to get the money back, Mojica never returned the money he took from the elderly victim.
Detectives believe there may be other victims. Police came across Mojica as a suspect in a new investigation where the elderly victim was able to provide a license plate number to detectives.
He was also using the alias Joe Marin.
A warrant for Mojica was active until Friday, when he was arrested without incident in Austin.
More charges are pending.
