WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas -- The Williamson County Sheriff's Department arrested a man after they say he held a driver at gunpoint in a Hutto cemetery.
According to an arrest warrant, the victim was driving in the Lutheran Cemetery on County Road 135 on his way to his cousin's house Aug. 10. Elmer Walton approached the car with a gun and flashlight and tapped on the window, pointing his gun at the driver.
Walton told the driver he would "shoot him dead" if he didn't get out of the car. When the man told Walton he was going to his cousin's house, Walton aimed the gun at his face.
The man told police that Walton threatened to kill him several times before calling 911. He reportedly told dispatchers he was keeping the driver on the scene.
When asked by officials with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office if he would have shot the driver, Walton answered that he "did not know."
Walton has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was released after posting $20,000 bail.
